The Huntington Digital Library is the result of a concerted effort by members of the Standards and Policies Committee (Digital Initiatives Group) of the Huntington Library since 2008. This building program has included the development of policies and standards for digital projects, as well as the selection of items to include in the library and of the software to display the final product, CONTENTdm. It has take time and commitment from all involved (in many cases, having to learn completely new skill sets) to develop a strong program. The work is ongoing—the one thing we have learned is that all digital projects are an iterative process. The Huntington Digital Library that has been born from this process represents only a fraction of our deep and rich holdings, but we are actively adding new content to our online collections.
This collection includes our guidelines and examples of templates used to creat some of our collections.
